Grandma Angelina’s Pizzas In Marana: Barro’s Pizza

With 48 locations nationwide, you might think Barro’s Pizza is some big corporate entity. Couldn’t be further from the truth. This is a family owned chain of restaurants with locations in Arizona, California, and the original shops in Chicago. They take a great deal of family pride in their products.

It all started when a woman named Angelina Barro (hereafter referred to as Grandma Angelina) was born in Sarconi, Italy in 1913. She moved to Chicago, Illinois in 1930, and in 1961 opened the first Barro’s Pizza in Chicago, with family members.

Following a move to Southern California in 1968, Grandma Angelina and her son John opened another restaurant there, later joined by Angelo and by 1976 they began to open more stores. In 1980 Angelo moved to Mesa, Arizona and opened a location there. Eventually they opened another of this family’s legacy stores in Marana. Today the Barro family operates a chain of 48 stores in Arizona and Texas.

Monday 10:30 am - 10:00 pm

Tuesday 10:30 am - 10:00 pm

Wednesday 10:30 am - 10:00 pm

Thursday 10:30 am - 10:00 pm

Friday 10:30 am - 11:00 pm

While famous for their wide variety of crafty pizzas, Barro’s Pizza also offers wings, sandwiches and pasta dishes. There is also a separate catering menu.
